That's in the UK, i don't know what's available in other countries but you need a minimum of 80cmx50cm floor space. The cages are solid and robust, easy to clean and maintain, and available in a variety of sizes, types and materials… choose the one you like most!
diameter to 12" - most people find 11" diameter is good - it is easier for them to run in a bigger wheel and they need to run with a straight back to avoid back pain etc in future.
The multy maxi would be the better of the two as the smaller one would be too small for a Syrian, even with the larger one you wouldn't have a lot of room for substrate with a 12" wheel that a fully grown Syrian needs. I think I will end up going for the maxi multy in the end as it would just fit perfectly and Bailey is already in a plastic cage so not wanting to go for one with bars. The base is of a flexible sturdy plastic, however the top is of hard clear plastic which they say is very secure. A more expensive option could be getting a tank for him, but it would be big enough for both bedding and his wheel among other things. It is very large - almost one metre long - and has a large, transparent plastic roof with a grid on top that can be opened.The grill allows good ventilation inside the habitat, it can be lifted up for easy access to the inside; once closed, it can be locked thanks to two rotating safety hooks. And I have a ZooZone 2, which is okay size-wise, but not as user friendly - it's clunkier, more noisy to open etc (not good for the resident) and the top has to be meshed as the bars are too widely spaced (I use it as an emergency/hospital cage).
If you get the Alaska or Hamster heaven you won't need the platform although could use it instead of the plastic shelf.
