It started really slow, was hard to get used to Foxy's narrating, but after few quick chapters and no distractions this book just gets better and better. Rarely does this happen for me but without hesitation I'd say that I did find this excellent book completely gripping. I initially wondered if the possibly flamboyant writing of the opening battle scene was somewhat at odds with the tone of all that follows but it didn't put me off and in no time at all I was engrossed.It would have been nice to see if there had been any change in this or amends made, instead of reading ‘my new girlfriend’ or ‘my partner then. From deployment in Afghanistan to walking to the North Pole, Jason highlights what it takes to develop emotional resilience from working within some of the most pressurised environments on earth.
