About this deal

Considering it needs to be fully integrated into a Voyager-sized figure, I think the head is fantastic, and the paint job is superb. Mixmaster had attempted to reactivate the rest of the Constructicons and Devastator, but was defeated by Ironhide. Dark of the Moon: Autobots/Decepticons In the December 2009 Q&A Hasbro stated that there are only seven Constructicons that form Devastator. Barricade explained that Devastator can be formed by any number from six to nine. [9]

Given that the film establishes multiple sets of Constructicons, it seems entirely possible that more than one "Devastator" could be formed. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. So realizing how big a bullet I'd have to bite to buy an aftermarket Scrapmetal once I had judged SS Devastator as being a sufficient level of want, I decided the easiest solution would be to get this set and pawn off the extra Long Haul I got literal days before this was announced some time in the future. Wouldn't you know it, the one toy in this entire set who's individual release has the highest aftermarket markup, and he's the one with a missing piece. I went from bummed that I have to now carve out a replacement piece for him, to terrified when I tried to connect him to Hightower and couldn't find the attachment peg and thinking "Oh crap, don't tell me that's the piece I'm missing", to relieved when I actually found the peg and confirmed from videos online that yes it is the front wheel that's missing. Revenge of the Fallen Mega Power Bots Devastator is a simple toy for younger children, featuring plenty of playing sounds and flashing lights. His limbs have limited swivel articulation and do not detach into separate vehicles. He has a distinctly more humanoid stature than normal.

Update: Several of our members pointed out that there are some non-official configurations for Devastator’s legs and head that will help you to display him in four-legged mode. Unlike regular Power Bots, and unlike other portrayals of the character in general, Devastator features a transformation! It consists of putting his arms up and laying him flat on his stomach, which lets him roll around using the wheels on his limbs. Devastator is made up of 52,632 geometric pieces and 11,716,127 polygons. The total length of all the pieces is 13.84 miles. [8] In the Pyramid Desert Battle scene from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the desert sands quake as the Constructicons combine to form Devastator.INCH SCALE CONSTRUCTICON OVERLOAD: Figure is highly articulated, featuring vivid, movie-inspired deco, and includes 1 detailed accessory. All that rambling above, is basically me trying to say what I said when HasTak first reveal this project, that imho SS Devastator is the single most ambitious project(combiner or otherwise) they've ever done. Announced to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Revenge of the Fallen, the holy grail known as Studio Series Devastator consists of eight (yes, eight) Constructicons that combine into one mechanical giant. While meant to celebrate the film's tenth anniversary, some members were released in 2020.

Every individual component is an individual stand alone release, with their own parts count incorporated in the budget, and this can be a double-edged sword. Previous Titans combiners like G1 Devs and Predaking's individual components suffered visible simplification when viewed as stand-alone figures because they were budgeted as one Titan class figure; however the combined mode arguably benefited from this because in general the less move parts in a given system, the more rigid this system is. Now each SS Devy component has to be their own stand-alone figure, with their own unique engineering. Hasbro's reps need to be able to market these as good enough individual figures to retailers, especially when the component releases span across several waves. Thanks to PrimeVsPrime on Youtube, we can share for you a nice set of images of the impressive Transformers Studio Series Devastator for your viewing pleasure. According to Ben Procter's concept art, Mixmaster originally had a friendly face based on that of actor Brendan Gleeson... and was apparently going to be an Autobot. The early head design was actually put to use in the Generation 1 Mixmaster-themed redeco store exclusive, as well as the Legends Mixmaster. In the distant past, the AllSpark Cube created a race of powerful, trans-dimensional beings as the first inhabitants of Cybertron. The Cube gave these beings mighty powers, as well as terraforming their world, but it was not limitless, and gradually became depleted. The first beings learned that the AllSpark's power could be replenished by harvesting the energy of stars, but they were unable to locate new stars to suit their purposes, despite their amazing ability to travel between dimensions. Once again, the Cube came to the rescue, creating a race of workers, who had the ability to change their shape. By nature of the character design, the combiner is highly asymmetrical, with one arm made of two Deluxe figures and one arm of one Voyager, which may lead to imbalance/weight distribution issue. And the two legs, although of similar size and being in the same size class, are massively different in design, so the individual weight and even center of gravity might need to be carefully planned out. After the Axiom Gun was destroyed, Megatron stated that Devastator is uncovering the Star Harvester. Whether he's formed from six, seven, eight, or even nine Constructicons, Devastator is a giant among giants. He is in fact so huge that his body simply cannot support itself when carrying his weight upright, forcing him to lumber on all fours. Not unlike Bonecrusher in the first movie, Revenge of the Fallen sees Mixmaster (and indeed, quite a lot of other Decepticons) emits some heavily processed, garbled Cybertronian noise that desire has occasionally led fans to misinterpret as real dialogue. The difference is that the DVD subtitles actually interpret the roar Mixmaster lets out before transforming to battle mode as the sentence fragment "Listen up..." Unlike Bonecrusher, no voice actor is listed in the end credits.

In a variable universal stream, Devastator worked to uncover the Star Harvester for the Fallen in Cairo. Revenge of the Fallen: Autobots/Decepticons This mold was also used to make Bonecrusher for the Japanese-exclusive Generation 1-colored Devastator set. Devastator was in an early draft of The Reign of Starscream, but was dropped at Hasbro's request. [7] I maintain my claim that this is the most ambitious project HasTak have done. Please remember: MPs are a completely different ball game altogether than retail.Pressing down the Decepticon shield on his crotch (!) spins the vortex in his chest, lights up his eyes and makes him utter one of many Welker-recorded phrases, including "Prepare for extermination!", "Crush Autobots!" and "I am Devastator!" Pressing on the crane of his excavator arm makes a cannon blast sound effect, while pressing the cab of his loader arm turns the scoop into claws. Devastator also has what appears to be two smaller excavator shovels that fold out of his mouth as he expands it to use his Vortex Grinder. At this point it feels as if the animators were just throwing in random construction equipment components all over the show to exaggerate his size, despite there only being between a debatable nine or ten vehicles visible pre-transformation. In the Pyramid Desert Battle scene from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the desert sands quake as Constructicon Overload combines with his comrades to form Constructicon Devastator. The "Mixmaster" body-type was among the very first of these new beings, one of several "builders" who would construct a harvester when a suitable sun had been found. Once built, the device would drain the energy of these stars, thus replenishing the AllSpark. Defiance #4 Devastator's final CGI head differs from that used for his promotional images, including more red panels and several pulleys and wires, four highly pronounced horns, and a trio of throat gears lit like a furnace instead of a single complex vortex machine lit green like his eyes. All of the toys and most of the video games released around the film depicted Devastator with a completely grey head, with later Takara releases of his Supreme and Legends class toys adding more screen-accurate red paint applications.
